Lake Pichola · Aravalli Hills · City Palace Views
Rated the world's best hotel — multiple times over. Oberoi Udaivilas rises from 30 acres of Mewar heritage on the banks of Lake Pichola. The WedPic Films brings cinematic storytelling to weddings at this extraordinary stage.
Oberoi Udaivilas · Udaipur · Est. 2002
Oberoi Udaivilas is not merely a hotel — it is a vision of Mewar grandeur realised in the 21st century. Set across 30 acres on the banks of Lake Pichola, the property features Rajput domes, semi-private pools, wildlife sanctuaries, and direct views of the Taj Lake Palace and the Aravalli Hills.
For over a decade, The WedPic Films has been the trusted cinematic eye at India's most celebrated palace weddings. An Oberoi Udaivilas wedding is among the rarest and most visually extraordinary commissions we accept — and we bring our full creative depth to every frame.
"Oberoi Udaivilas does not simply host weddings. It provides a stage so grand that the only job of a photographer is to have the honesty to let it breathe."
— Akshhit K Gandhi, Founder · The WedPic Films
The Venue
Oberoi Udaivilas was conceived as a tribute to Mewar architecture — the same tradition that gave rise to the City Palace and the Taj Lake Palace. Its domes, courtyards, and colonnaded walkways were designed by the late Bilkey Llinas Design, who studied original Mewar palace blueprints before a single stone was laid.
The property's 30 acres include a wildlife sanctuary where peacocks and deer roam freely through the grounds — a living backdrop that no studio could manufacture. From the lake-facing terraces, guests look directly across Lake Pichola to the Taj Lake Palace, creating a visual dialogue between two of India's most extraordinary properties.
Wedding Spaces
The crown jewel of Udaivilas weddings — a vast, manicured lawn facing Lake Pichola with direct views of Taj Lake Palace. Large mandap ceremonies on this lawn produce photographs that are simply without equal in India.
The lakeside lawns stretch along the water's edge, offering intimate ceremony settings where the lake forms the natural altar backdrop — and every sunset becomes a backdrop of fire and gold.
An elevated rooftop terrace with a 270-degree view of Lake Pichola, the Aravalli Hills, and the City Palace. Evening cocktail receptions here are among the most cinematic settings we have ever photographed.
A truly unique setting — peacocks and deer moving freely through the estate create a living, breathing natural tableau for morning mehendi and haldi functions that no photographer can fully anticipate or replicate.
Oberoi Udaivilas's stunning pool pavilion — framed by heritage domes — is a natural setting for intimate portrait sessions and poolside sangeet evenings that blend architecture with water beautifully.
A palatial indoor banquet space with hand-painted ceilings and chandeliers for evening receptions, with controlled dramatic lighting that we use to craft portraits of extraordinary depth.
What We Deliver
Full-length cinematic wedding films — narrative features built around the emotional arc of your celebration. Our Oberoi Udaivilas films open with the dramatic arrival at the porte-cochère and close with the last dance under the domes. Not a highlight reel. A film.
Understated, editorial-quality still photography. We work with Udaivilas's extraordinary natural and architectural light — no forced poses, no garish flash. Every image is composed to stand alone as a piece of photography.
Comprehensive multi-day coverage from mehendi and sangeet through the morning pheras and reception — across all of Udaivilas's spaces. Each function is given dedicated creative attention, not rushed documentation.
We conduct pre-wedding portrait sessions across Udaipur's most extraordinary settings — the City Palace ghats, Bagore Ki Haveli, Jag Mandir, and the Udaivilas grounds themselves at golden hour.
Why The WedPic Films
We know every light condition at Udaivilas — from the peacock-wandered dawn across the wildlife sanctuary, to the amber dome reflections that appear only in the last 20 minutes before sunset.
Akshhit K Gandhi personally directs every wedding — never delegated to an associate. The creative eye you see in our portfolio is the eye that will be at your wedding.
We deliberately limit to 20 weddings per year. An Oberoi Udaivilas wedding receives the same undivided creative investment as if it were the only wedding we were covering that year.
There is a meaningful difference between a wedding video and a cinematic wedding film. We make films. They have narrative arc, emotional depth, and a language that outlasts any trend in videography.
Oberoi Udaivilas is consistently ranked among the world's finest hotels — and for couples choosing it as their wedding venue, it represents the pinnacle of Indian hospitality and heritage. Choosing the right wedding photographer for an Oberoi Udaivilas wedding is a decision that will define how this extraordinary experience is remembered for generations.
Opened in 2002, Oberoi Udaivilas was built on the site of a former royal hunting lodge on the banks of Lake Pichola in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The property spans 30 acres and features architecture inspired by original Mewar palace traditions — domed pavilions, colonnaded verandahs, hand-carved stone screens, and a 5-acre wildlife sanctuary where peacocks and deer roam freely. The hotel's 87 rooms and suites, many with private pools, offer direct views of Lake Pichola and the Taj Lake Palace.
For a wedding photographer, Oberoi Udaivilas presents a visual environment of extraordinary richness. The Kohinoor Lawn, with its direct sightline across Lake Pichola to the Taj Lake Palace, creates a frame-within-frame composition that is found nowhere else in India. The wildlife sanctuary provides natural, unrepeatable moments — a peacock crossing the baraat procession, a deer visible in the background of a portrait. And the Pichola Lawns at sunset, when the water turns gold and the Aravalli Hills go purple, create light that photographers travel the world to find.
Most Oberoi Udaivilas weddings are 3–5 day celebrations. The property accommodates morning mehendi and haldi on the Wildlife Sanctuary Lawns or Pool Pavilion; sangeet evenings on the Kohinoor Lawn or Lake View Terrace; mandap ceremonies on the Kohinoor Lawn or Pichola Lawns; and reception dinners in the Kohinoor Banquet Hall or under the stars on the lakeside. Each space has its own distinct visual character, making a multi-day Udaivilas wedding album one of extraordinary variety.
Oberoi Udaivilas weddings — especially peak season dates between October and February — need to be booked well in advance. We recommend reaching out to The WedPic Films at least 18 months before your wedding date. Our Oberoi Udaivilas collections begin from ₹4,00,000. All projects are personally led by Akshhit K Gandhi.
From Our Couples
"The film Akshhit made of our Udaivilas wedding is the most precious thing we own. When we watch the Kohinoor Lawn ceremony sequence, we are completely transported back. It is filmmaking, not photography."
"We had a peacock walk through our baraat procession — Akshhit caught it perfectly. We didn't even notice it happening. That is the kind of eye he has. Our family still talks about that photograph."
"The sunset photographs on the Pichola Lawns are so beautiful they don't look real. We've had people ask us if they are painted. We are forever grateful to The WedPic Films."
